Flirting Fail.
One of my friends was out having several cocktails on Friday night. In the group that he was with, there was an attractive lady who happened to be waiting for her bar results. As the night wore on and these two continued their flirtatious banter the topic shifted onto the pending release of the Illinois Bar Exam Results. She was absolutely convinced that she had another two weeks to wait until she found out, my friend on the other hand, knew how the system actually works.
What? Doesn’t everyone engage in flirtatious banter about the bar exam? Oh…
Much like sending our governors to jail, there is a time-honored tradition in Illinois where the Bar Examiners always tell the test takers that the results will be released on October 15th. Which, as anyone who has taken the summer bar exam here knows, is a boldfaced lie because the Illinois Bar Results always are released on October 1st after midnight.
Now back to the budding romance…
My friend and this lady continued their discussion on the exam release dates until she finally relented and accepted his version of when the bar results would be delivered. She decided to do what most of us would do: use her smartphone to check the results. And she did.
She failed.
Needless to say, he didn’t get her number.
